From Bio to Interview – Welcome

In your in-person session, you already created a professional bio and practiced telling your story on paper. In Lesson A, you refined that work and built a clear, first-person professional bio you can use as your real introduction.

In this online lesson, you will turn that written bio into spoken answers you can use in real job interviews, mentoring sessions, and the upcoming mock interviews.

The whole of Lesson B should take about 90–120 minutes. For this first screen, plan to spend about 5 minutes to read and get ready.

  • See what employers really listen for in interviews.
  • Use your professional bio to build a strong “Tell me about yourself” answer.
  • Practice simple patterns for other common questions, such as “Why this job?” and “Tell me about a time you solved a problem.”
  • Create a Mock Interview Preparation Sheet that you will bring to the in-person mock interviews.

Today, you move from writing to real interview performance. It is okay to make mistakes here. Your goal is to be clear, specific, and professional, and to show who you are as a worker.

  • Make sure you have your final professional bio nearby (on your screen, in a document, or written on paper).
  • Take 1–2 minutes to read it silently and notice: Does it sound like the way you would introduce yourself out loud?

You will use this bio in the next units to build interview answers and to prepare for your in-person mock interviews.
