Milestone 5: Brand Yourself – Professional Bio and Interview Preparation

What this milestone is about:

In this milestone, you will turn your earlier Skillforce Ready work (identity story, transferable skills, STAR examples, résumé summary) into a clear, professional introduction you can use in real life.

You have already started your professional bio work in person. Now you will iterate—make improvements—so your bio becomes first-person and interview-ready. The information stays the same; the style changes so your story sounds natural, professional, and easy to follow.

What you will do:

Learn what a personal brand is and why it matters for hiring and networking.
Improve and repurpose your bio into a 4-8 sentence professional bio with four parts:
Background
Skills
One achievement (a result)
Next step
Practice speaking your bio and record yourself to improve clarity, pace, and confidence.
Use simple answer patterns for common interview questions (including mini-STAR) to make answers structured and easy to follow.
Create a Mock Interview Preparation Sheet with bullet-point plans (not full scripts) for 2–3 questions to use in mock interviews and mentoring.

By the end of Milestone 5, you will have a usable professional bio and interview notes you can take directly into job applications, networking conversations, mentoring sessions, and interviews. Your written and spoken answers will be clearer, more specific, and more professional.
