Professional Summary – First Draft (Assignment)
Professional Summary – First Draft
Now it’s your turn to write a short Professional Summary for your résumé. This is a first draft. It does not need to be perfect.
Your task
Write 2–3 sentences that:
- Say who you are as a worker (role or field)
- Mention your most important skills or experience
- Say what kind of work or environment you are interested in
Try to keep your summary under about 70–80 words. Short, clear sentences are best.
Helpful frames (optional)
You can use one or two of these sentence starters:
“I am a [role] with experience in [type of work / setting].”
“I have [X] years of experience supporting [customers / clients / teams].”
“My strengths include [skill 1], [skill 2], and [skill 3].”
“I am interested in roles where I can [do what?] and [support whom?].”
How to submit
1. Type your 2–3 sentence Professional Summary in the answer box for this assignment.
2. (Optional) Add one short sentence: “How does it feel to see your story in résumé form?”
3. Check that you used at least one strength word (for example: organized, adaptable, proactive, resilient).
4. Click Submit.
Your coach will review your summary and may give you short written feedback. You can improve it later in Lesson B.
