Résumé Map – Planning Worksheet
In this assignment, you will collect the main pieces for your résumé in one place. This is a planning step, not your final résumé. Simple notes are enough.
This is a draft, not a test. You can write “not sure yet” in any part and return later.
How to complete this assignment
You can complete your résumé map in two ways:
- Option 1: Type your answers directly in the text box when you click “Submit”.

Please answer each section as best you can. This will help you a lot in Lesson B.
1. Target roles or Fields (about 5–10 minutes)
Write 1–3 roles or fields you are interested in. These do not need to be perfect. They are your best guess for now.
Example:
- Customer support in a call center
- Office administration in a clinic or school
- Junior IT support / helpdesk
You can start your lines like:
“I am interested in…” or “A job I would like to try is…”
2. Skills (about 5–10 minutes)
List 6–10 skills you want to show employers. Include:
- Transferable skills (for example: clear communication, problem-solving, organizing)
- Technical skills (for example: Excel, Google Sheets, ticketing systems)
- Language skills (for example: Arabic native, English advanced)
Example:
- Customer support (phone and email)
- Basic Excel and Google Sheets
- Scheduling and calendar coordination
Sentence frames you can use if helpful:
“I have experience in…” – “I am good at…” – “I can use…”
3. Jobs, Volunteer Roles, or Projects (about 5–10 minutes)
List roles that show your skills. These can be:
- Paid jobs
- Volunteer roles
- Caregiving or community work
- Major projects (for example, organizing an event or leading a group)
For each role, try to write:
- Role title (for example, “Customer Support Assistant”)
- Place (company, organization, or context)
- Dates (for example, 2021–present)
- 1–2 short notes about what you did
Example:
Customer Support Assistant – Local Telecom Company – 2021–present
– Answered customer calls and explained plans in clear, simple language.
4. Education and Training (about 5–10 minutes)
List education and training that supports your goals. This can include:
- Degrees (for example, BA, diploma)
- Certificates and short courses
- Community or online training
Example:
Certificate in Office Administration – Community Training Center – 2019
5. Languages and Tools (about 5–10 minutes)
Note the languages and tools you can use at work.
- Languages (for example: Arabic native, English advanced)
- Digital tools (for example: Excel, Google Sheets, email tools)
- Systems (for example: helpdesk ticketing system, scheduling tools)
Example:
Arabic (native), English (advanced)
Excel (basic formulas), Google Sheets, basic ticketing system
Optional: Barrier turned into a strength
If you feel comfortable, you can add one sentence about a barrier you turned into a strength, based on your STAR stories in Milestone 3.
Example:
“I once struggled with new software, but I took a short course, practiced after hours, and now I am confident using it to support my team.”
Complete and upload your Résumé Map
In this step, you will open your own copy of the Résumé Map in Google Docs, fill it in, download it to your computer, and upload it here in TalentLMS.
Step 1 – Open your Résumé Map
Click the link below. Google Docs will automatically create a private copy for you.
Open your Résumé Map – Planning Worksheet
When the page opens, click “Make a copy”. Your copy will be saved in your own Google Drive.
Step 2 – Name your file
At the top of the Google Doc, change the file name so we can recognise it easily.
Use this format:
FirstName-LastName-Resume-Map
Example: Amira-Hassan-Resume-Map
Step 3 – Fill in your Résumé Map
Type your answers directly in your copy of the worksheet. Use short phrases or bullet points. Simple English is fine.
- Target roles or fields
- Skills (transferable, technical, language)
- Jobs / volunteer roles / projects
- Education and training
- Languages and tools
If you are not sure about something, you can write “not sure yet” and return later.
Step 4 – Download your completed worksheet
Make sure the file name stays in this format:
FirstName-LastName-Resume-Map
Example: Amira-Hassan-Resume-Map.docx or Amira-Hassan-Resume-Map.pdf
When you finish, in your Google Doc go to File → Download.
Choose Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF.
Step 5 – Upload your file in this assignment
Come back to this TalentLMS page. In the submission area:
- Click the button to upload your file.
- Select your saved file: FirstName-LastName-Resume-Map.
- Confirm the upload, then click Submit.
This worksheet is a planning step for your résumé. It does not need to be perfect. Do your best with the time you have.
When you are ready, scroll down to the submission area and type your answers for each section (or upload your completed worksheet). Do your best with the time you have. This résumé map will make the next lessons much easier.
